Who is Powdercoat Man? Other than being a super hero, I am a retired electrical engineer who worked for a major local company in Minneapolis designing electronic circuits for 39 years. I love to fabricate, build, weld, paint, and wire anything automotive in my shop. My shop is where I do the powdercoating.
I have three rules that seem to work for my customers and me.
- I don’t take anything apart. If I do, I will either break it or you won’t know how to put it back together.
- I don’t pick your colors. I’m an engineer. I can’t match my shirt to my pants. Just ask my wife.
- Everyone leaves happy one way or another.
Powdercoat Man doing what he enjoys… cycling up mountain passes.
Bicycles
I have been an avid bike rider for 40 years. I have done a lot of bike touring, starting with a cross country trip from Oregon to Virginia when I was a teenager. That was a 4246 mile trip. After that, I was hooked and continued touring for many years with trips all over the western US and Europe. My pride and joy is a custom bike made by Chris Kvale in 1978, which has tens of thousands of miles on it.
Hot Rods
Building hot rods has been my passion for the last 20 years. Currently I am into traditional hotrods, as they were built in the 1950’s and 1960’s. My favorite website dedicated to traditional rides that I like to hang out on is the H.A.M.B. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/
I like to take a car/project and repair, modify, weld, paint, or whatever it takes to get a car that looks and runs great. I am my own best customer for powdercoating 🙂
